Subscriptions

  • Who is actually physically making these bracelets?

We are!  More accurately, Stephanie Byrd (hi!), Tinkerer-in-Chief of Red Fish Rue Fish is actually physically making these bracelets.  We may collaborate with other artists on aspects of the design, but production happens in house.  


  • How do I sign up?

To receive the upcoming shipment, you must subscribe by the 15th on the month before the shipment occurs. All we need to get started is your name, your email address, and your shipping state.  You submit that here.  We send you an invoice, you pay it, and after that the billing is automatic. You can opt-in to automatic payment (recommended) or pay your recurring invoice manually.


  • I live outside of the US.  Can I subscribe?

Possibly.  Contact us.


  • Can I switch to an annual subscription for the current year if I started with a bi-monthly subscription or missed the first shipment?

Yes, but only until February 15 (the last day to order to receive the March shipment).  It isn't a switch, but a new subscription, so you'll need to cancel your bi-monthly subscription first and then sign up for the annual subscription.  Please be advised that you will not be credited the difference for previous bi-monthly shipments, but you'll only be charged in full for the number of shipments remaining in the current subscription year.  If you are a pro-rated annual subscriber, your subscription will renew for the following year on December 15th.


  • I love this!  Is there a monthly box?  Why only bi-monthly?

YAY!  There will not be a monthly box option for 2019.  Bi-monthly keeps the workload manageable - production is all in-house.  It also keeps the designs fresh and interesting.  We'd rather have more ideas than months over more months than ideas and have to force something just to make a deadline.  That's lame.  We're not about that life.


  • Does this mean you already know all the themes for 2019?!

 I am Groot.


  • When will I get my bracelet?

Delivery times vary based on location.  But we plan to ship on/around the 15th of January, March, May, July, September, and November.  While we will always do our best to avoid delays, sometimes it is beyond our control (late supply shipments, alien attacks, etc).  We'll always keep you posted.


You must subscribe by the 15th of the month prior to an upcoming shipment to receive the following month's box. If you subscribe AFTER the 15th of the month, you'll receive the box in three months. (For instance, if you subscribe on February 15, you will receive the March shipment. If you subscribe on February 16, you will receive the May shipment). 


  • How do I change my personalization?

Send a note with your desired text to bracelets(at)ruefish(dot)com by the 15th of the month prior to shipment. Please be mindful of the character count specifications for each design.


  • What happens if I don't send you my personalized text by the 15th?

You'll still receive your box, but your bracelet will not be personalized.  If your intent is to receive a bracelet that is not personalized, it's preferred that you let us know that you just want yours blank for that month.


  • What will the bracelets be made of?

Aluminum is our base metal of choice.  We like aluminum, we're sticking with it.
 

  • What size will they be?

The stock we'll be working with will be anywhere from 6.5 inches - 7 inches long and .5 inch to 2 inches wide at their widest point.  These will all be adjustable cuff bracelets, so you'll be able to apply some gentle adjustment at home.  This range tends to work well for most adult wrists.  How tight or loose a cuff bracelet is worn is a matter of personal preference - some people adjust to a nearly closed .25 inch gap, others like a gap that's 1.5 inches wide.  We usually ship the bracelets with a gap between .75-1.25 inches.
 

  • What about child sizes?

Sorry, this subscription isn't intended for children.


  • Can I have more than one annual subscription or more than one bi-monthly subscription?

Yes, however you'll receive a separate invoice for each shipping address.  When submitting your custom text request each month, please do so in a single submission per invoice.  In general, boxes going to the same address will ship in one package unless the shipping address is under different names.  For example, if you have your package sent to your company mail room and someone else has their package sent to the same company room, we're going to ship those separately.


  • Can I have both an annual subscription and a bi-monthly subscription?

Yes, but your bi-monthly subscription will be still be billed at the bi-monthly rate.  You'll receive a separate invoice per subscription type for each shipping address.  When submitting your custom text request each month, please do so in a single submission per invoice.  In general, boxes going to the same address will ship in one package unless the shipping address is under different names.  For example, if you have your package sent to your college mail room and someone else has their package sent to the same mail room, we're going to ship those separately.


  • Why does the bi-monthly subscription cost more per shipment than the annual subscription?

Because it costs us more to manage bi-monthly subscriptions.


  • When will I be charged?

Annual subscribers are charged for the full year (6 bi-monthly shipments) and are charged annually on the anniversary the subscription or on December 15th* each year for pro-rated annual subscriptions.  Bi-monthly subscribers are charged the the single shipment bi-monthly rate on the day of subscription and will be charged on a recurring basis bi-monthly on the same day (For example, if you subscribe on February 5th, your account will be charged on the 5th of every other month).  (Note: if you sign up on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of a month, your February payment will be charged on February 28th).


  • Are subscriptions refundable?

Subscriptions are non-refundable.  To avoid unwanted charges you can unsubscribe.  Annual subscribers can unsubscribe for the following year any time before the anniversary of their subscription.  Bi-monthly subscribers can unsubscribe before the end of their bi-monthly billing cycle (for example, if you signed up on February 5th, you would need to cancel before April 5th). Please send cancellation requests to by sending a cancellation request to cancel(at)ruefish(dot)com.


  • I just want the one upcoming box.

Choose the bi-monthly plan and unsubscribe as soon as your card is charged.  You'll have paid for the upcoming box and you won't get billed for the next one. If you change your mind later, just subscribe again.  No sweat.


  • I'm a bi-monthly subscriber, can I skip a month/pause my account/put my account on hold?

Currently, the only way to skip a month, pause an account, or put an account on hold is by unsubscribing.  To unsubscribe, send a cancellation request to cancel(at)ruefish(dot)com. Simply subscribe again when you're ready.  If you're worried about your next box arriving while you're out of town, you might consider taking advantage of the free mail hold service offered by USPS (if it's available in your area).  If you just need to update your address, let us know.  Tip: If you're not into a theme, give it as a gift!  Remember, you choose the personalization every box, you can also choose not to have it personalized at all.
 

  • Can I skip a month/pause my account/put my account on hold if I'm an annual subscriber?
